Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Moray – Maras – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Pisac – Cusco

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Moray – Maras – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Pisac – Cusco
06:00 – 06:30 Hotel pickup – Transfer to Chinchero. We will begin this excursion to the Sacred Valley with a pickup from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco (approx. 6:00 a.m.). We will head toward the traditional Andean town of Chinchero (3,762 m a.s.l.), where you can appreciate its agricultural terraces and women weavers who keep alive the ancestral techniques of the Sacred Valley of the Incas textiles.
09:00 – 10:00 Moray – Inca agricultural laboratory. We will continue the Sacred Valley circuit by visiting Moray, an archaeological site that functioned as an agricultural laboratory. Here you will learn how the circular Inca terraces were used to acclimate different crops according to the altitudinal zone. This point is an essential stop on any Cusco Sacred Valley tour itinerary.
10:30 – 11:30 Maras Salt Mines – Natural salt ponds. Our Cusco Sacred Valley excursion continues with a visit to the Maras Salt Mines, more than 3,000 natural salt ponds that have been exploited since pre-Inca times. From here, you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the entire Sacred Valley.
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch in Urubamba. We will head toward Urubamba, the heart of the Peru Sacred Valley tour, to savor a buffet lunch with typical Andean dishes at a tourist restaurant. This stop will allow you to recharge your energy before continuing the tour.
13:30 – 15:00 Ollantaytambo – Archaeological complex. We will visit the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo (2,792 m a.s.l.), one of the most important places on the super Sacred Valley tour. You will admire its enormous stone walls, the Temple of the Sun, and the Princess Baths while exploring one of the last inhabited Inca cities in the world.
15:30 – 17:00 Pisac – Urban and religious center. Our excursion through the Sacred Valley of the Incas ends with a visit to the Pisac archaeological center, famous for its agricultural terraces and its religious and military function. Depending on the itinerary, you can also tour the Pisac handicraft market, ideal for purchasing souvenirs of the Cusco Sacred Valley tour.
17:00 – 19:00 Return to Cusco. We will conclude our Sacred Valley 1-day tour, returning to the city of Cusco with an approximate arrival at 19:00 hours. This experience will allow you to explore the most emblematic points of the Sacred Valley of the Incas tour in a single day.
