Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Route of the Sun – Puno

06:30 a.m. Hotel transfer — Bus station. Today, the Pakareqtampu Travel team will pick you up to transfer you from your hotel in Cusco to the bus station, where you will board the tourist bus to begin the famous Route of the Sun. Throughout the journey, you will have a tour guide from Pakareqtampu Travel on board who will accompany you at each of the scheduled stops. Our first stop will be at the Andahuaylillas Chapel, a beautiful temple popularly known as the «Sistine Chapel of the Americas» due to its impressive murals, decorations, and colonial artistic wealth. Subsequently, we will continue towards Raqchi, an ancient and imposing Inca archaeological complex that was dedicated to the god Wiracocha, where you can appreciate its monumental stone and adobe walls. At noon, we will stop in the town of Marangani to enjoy a rejuvenating buffet lunch at a tourist restaurant in the area, ideal for tasting the local gastronomy. In the afternoon, we will continue the tour towards La Raya, the highest point of the entire route and the geographical border between Cusco and Puno, a perfect place to take spectacular panoramic photos of the mountain range. Then, we will make our final stop to visit the Pukara Lithic Museum, an important center that protects sculptures, monoliths, and ceremonial pieces from this significant pre-Inca culture. At 05:30 p.m., we will arrive in Puno, where Pakareqtampu Travel staff will meet you at the land terminal to make the final transfer directly to your hotel.
