Puno Tour 2 Days – Uros, Amantani and Taquile

Short itinerary

Day 01: Uros – Amantani

  • Early morning pickup at your hotel or Puno terminal by Pakareqtampu Travel to enjoy breakfast at a partner restaurant.
  • Transfer to the port of Puno and navigation by boat heading to the legendary Floating Islands of the Uros.
  • Guided visit to two islands to learn about the local culture and an option to take a traditional ride on a totora reed raft.
  • A 3-hour boat journey towards Amantani Island and a warm reception by local families.
  • Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at a local house in Amantani, enjoying a time of rest and coexistence.

Day 02: Taquile Island

  • Early breakfast in Amantani and a boat journey of approximately 1 hour towards the beautiful Taquile Island.
  • A 45-minute hike towards the main square of Taquile to explore its handicraft centers and famous UNESCO textiles.
  • Traditional lunch at a local restaurant on the island before descending towards the port.
  • Return by boat of approximately 3 hours towards the city of Puno and final transfer to your hotel or downtown.

Detailed itinerary

Day 01: Uros – Amantani

Our Puno tour begins with the pickup at your hotel or Puno terminal between approximately 06:40 and 07:10 hrs. From there, the Pakareqtampu Travel guide will pick you up from the land terminal to take you for breakfast at one of our partner restaurants; soon after, you will be picked up and we will take you to the port of Puno to start our tour. Your departure begins at 8:30 a.m. from the port of Puno heading towards Los Uros. After 30 minutes you will arrive at your destination, you will visit 2 islands, the families will welcome you and teach you a bit about their culture. You will have the option to board a totora reed raft for a 20-minute ride. After 3 hours, you will arrive in Amantani, where the inhabitants will welcome you and take you to their houses where you will stay. You will have lunch with the islanders followed by a short rest, also sharing dinner and spending the night in this magical community environment.

Day 02: Taquile Island

After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., we head on a journey of approximately 1 hour towards the beautiful Taquile Island. Upon arriving at the port, we walk about 45 minutes to the main square, where we explore the handicraft centers, famous for their textiles recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Then, we enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before descending to the port of Taquile. Finally, we return to the city of Puno on a journey of approximately 3 hours by boat, where the Pakareqtampu Travel team will take care of your final transfer towards your hotel or downtown to conclude the experience.
