Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa City Tour and Santa Catalina Monastery

08:00 a.m. Hotel pickup — Carmen Alto Viewpoint. Start: 08:00 a.m., pickup from the hotel. The first stop will be the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, from where you have the best views of the valley and the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Picchu volcanoes. Morning Yanahuara, San Lázaro, and Plaza de Armas. Then we visit the traditional Yanahuara neighborhood, with its 1750 baroque church and its arches with phrases carved in sillar. We walk through the historic San Lázaro Neighborhood, the oldest in Arequipa, and continue towards the Plaza de Armas, considered one of the most beautiful in the country. We visit the Casona Tristán del Pozo and the Andean Sanctuaries Museum (optional), home to the famous “Juanita” mummy. 14:00 p.m. Santa Catalina Monastery. Finally, we enter the Santa Catalina Monastery, a true city within the city, with more than 400 years of history. We will stroll through its internal streets, colorful patios, cells, cloisters, and original kitchens. End time: approx. 2:00 p.m.
